Animal Rights Protesting Across the Country
On Monday morning, Australia woke to Animal Rights Activists protesting around the country. They stormed farms, abattoirs and marched across Melbourne’s CBD, bringing it to a standstill. The protests were organised to mark the one-year anniversary of the release of the documentary Dominion, which looks into practices employed daily on Australian livestock farms.
We were joined by Emily Rice, Outreach and Partnerships Liaison from PETA Australia to discuss if this form of activism has succeeded in raising awareness for the negligence animals in the livestock industry face – or if its illegal nature has dampened the cause.
