Activism in Arts: Artists Inspiring Young People
Can art change the world? Activism in arts is a big part of Sydney culture whether it is a community mural or a caricature of a politician it has the power to change perceptions and raise awareness. This week a group of activist artists are hoping to inspire young minds as part of the NSW Youth Week. The ‘Create for Change: Activism in the Arts’ event is an interactive panel discussion for 16-25 year old’s presented by City of Sydney and Pine Street Creative Arts Centre.
To find out more about activism in the arts and this event Jess spoke with artist and the Arts and Program Coordinator of Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, Christie Torrington as well as Hip hop artist and MC Kween G who will be moderating the event.
