Medium Density Housing Code to be Delayed

The NSW government have this week announced that they are delaying the implementation of a code that will make it easier for developers and landowners to build terraces and other medium density houses. The medium density code came into effect during 2018, but its effect has been limited after nearly 50 councils obtained a deferral of the code. The code has since undergone an independent review, which has been influential in delaying the code’s implementation. To discuss the report’s findings, and the ramifications it has for the government and communities, we were joined by UTS academic and lead for the report, Professor Roberta Ryan.
