Make it all about your audience! 2SER is their station
It’s their station, and we’re celebrating our Supporters as much as our station. Talk directly to your listeners.
Use ‘YOU’ ‘WE’ and ‘OUR,’ and steer clear of the ‘me’ ‘myself’ and ‘I’s.
Tell them what your show gives them: your passion, independent news, supports the Australian and Sydney music scenes, music they can’t find anywhere else, specialist knowledge, something to get them through the day at work.
And of course, do plenty of shoutouts! See if any of your callers would like to be on air for 60 seconds on the radio as well.

It takes 21 times of hearing or seeing a message to act on it – so no, you haven’t said ‘2ser.com/support’ or ‘9514 9500′ too many times on your show yet! Come on mic every 2 songs (roughly every 10 mins), and say that number and web address again!

– Supporting the station is supporting the Sydney, and Australian, music scene. Talk about how your show has done that: artists you have given first airplay to, those you have interviewed etc.
– The station is volunteer-driven. All your favourite shows are brought to you by the hard work of dedicated volunteers, doing it for the love of what 2SER does, and what their shows can give to their audience.
– 2SER has one of Sydney’s only truly local independent Sydney newsrooms. Support 2SER to support local news and information.
– As a not-for-profit station 2SER really does rely on Supporters to keep the station running each year. We’ve made it through 40 so far, but we need your support for the next 40!
– Supporters get access to exclusive Supporter-Only prize draws, including our Supporter Drive prize packs, and regular monthly giveaways in our e-news.
Other things to note:
– Listeners can either make a tax-deductible donation OR become a Supporter. Being a Supporter is not tax deductible. There are now 2 buttons to choose from, to help make this clearer for our listeners, with each option. Please familiarise yourself with the Support page.
– We now have a Merch store, but are still in the process of testing things out. There is a button on the Support page, but please don’t mention this to our audience on air yet, as we’ll do a proper launch of the store after Supporter Drive once a few things have been ironed out.
