Spring Forward, Fall Back: Daylight Savings

Last Sunday at 1:59am, Sydney jumped in time to 3am at the top of the hour. Losing an hour of sleep isn’t ever fun; we lose track of time in appointments, meals, and sleep. Daylight Savings in New South Wales has been observed since the 1970’s, yet it still tends to be a bit of a hot topic whenever it goes forward on the first Sunday of October, and turns back on the first Sunday of April. Dr. Leon Lack, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Flinders University explains the effects of the time change and how we adjust.
