A Guide to Modernist Architecture
Ever walked past the UTS Tower, the MLC Building in Martin Place or the Masonic Centre in Castlereagh Street and wondered why they stand out so much? These are part of modernist or brutalist schools of architecture, and there’s many more famous examples all over the world. To give us us a rundown of what it is and why its important is the head of the architecture school at UTS’ Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, Prof. Dr. Deborah Ascher Barnstone lent her expertise to the show to help explain what it is.
