A ‘Pumice’ Raft is Floating Towards the Great Barrier Reef
We know that our Great Barrier Reef is under threat, every two years the corals in the Great Barrier Reef ‘bleach’ due to rising sea temperatures and eventually die if they’re unable to regain their colour. However, a saviour in the form of a pumice ‘raft’ is floating its way to the reef and may be able to help as it’s expected to bring with it organisms and baby corals that may be able to revive the Reef’s ecosystem. To discuss more we were joined by Professor Heather Handley from Macquarie University’s Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences.
