A new report out today called ‘Empowering Disadvantaged Households to Access Affordable, Clean Energy’, produced by the Australian Council of Social Services, called on the Australian Government to put people first and end the policy battles on energy transition to ensure low-income earners and disadvantaged people have access to reliable and clean energy into the future.
The report estimates that millions of Australian’s struggle with energy stress, and while the Government continues to leave energy policy up in-the-air, many Australians will continue to struggle until a transition into affordable, renewable energy is undertaken.
CEO of the Australian Council of Social Services, Dr. Cassandra Goldie, spoke with the Monday Daily to discuss how Australia’s energy security and policy can impact on inequality.
