ACTU advocates 5.5% wage rise
Scott Morrison labelled Anthony Albanese a “loose unit” today for advocating a 5.1% rise in wages in line with inflation.
The ACTU is advocating a higher than inflation pay rise for those on the minimum wage of 5.5% This is higher than the inflation rate of 5.1% but the ACTU says that people have been losing ground over the last couple of years.
Currently the minimum wage is $20.33 per hour and they believe that business will benefit from increased economic activity from the rise.
