Australia’s New Space Agency
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced Adelaide is going to be the new space base agency. This is exciting news for Adelaide since this base would not only promise new Astronomical knowledge, but also an economical increase, since it is expected roughly 60 organizations will employ 800 people. However not everyone is happy with the news. Despite WA Prime Minister Mark McGowan expressing that Western Australia had also proper experience with the space industry, other states oppose to South Australia receiving around $100 million of government expenditure. We spoke to Aeronautical engineer Matthew Tetlow from the University of Adelaide to tell us more.
