Mohammed is the author of The Tribe and The Lebs which was shortlisted for the 2019 Miles Franklin award. He is also the founding Director of Sweatshop – a literacy movement based in Western Sydney which is devoted to empowering culturally and linguistically diverse communities through reading, writing and critical thinking”. Mohammed is the editor of After Australia. He has some fascinating insights into the role of art of writing in addressing systemic inequality.
