Albanese Gov’s Attempt To “Revive” The Arts Industry: Cap or no Cap?

Last week, the Albanese Government released its five-year plan for cultural policy, dubbed “Revive”, which aims to bring back the Arts, stronger than ever backed by $286 million taxpayer dollars. Those of you old enough may remember the “Creative Australia” policy from the Gillard Government in 2013, which provided funding at arm’s length from the minister, but in 2014 the Liberal Government cut this funding and returned decision-making to the minister of the day. So, what will the future hold now that a Labor Government is back holding the paintbrush? Maddy discussed this with the arts advocate and editor of Meajin magazine, Esther Anatolitis.
