You’d be surprised how often you interact with algorithms. It’s not just for social media. Use your GPS to get to work? Took money out this week from an ATM? All these scenarios involve an interaction with an algorithm.
But do you know what an algorithm even is? To make sure we asked Dr Muhammad Ikram, Lecturer in Cyber-security at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University. This interview was inspired by Macquarie University’s publication The Lighthouse and their article ‘How an Algorithm is Like and Omelette‘.
