Artificial Intelligence is shaping fairness in Australian law, but the public lacks transparency.
Predictive algorithms used by Australian Corrective Services target individuals based on perceived risk factors for re-offending, such as family ties and neighborhood associations. However, the methods for recording and assessing these factors remain undisclosed.
