All Of The Feels
IN FEELINGS, The debut album from local Sydney heart-string-tugger Lisa Caruso is finally here.
An album that would of taken even longer to materialise if Lisa had given into the physical sickness that constantly plagued the process of writing and recording the album – Or maybe, just maybe, it added sense of drive that helped flesh out the searing folk rock blends.
Taking cues from the likes of the dazing atmospheres of Mazzy Star, the elegance of Fiona Apple and the low-ley conceptual drama of Julia Jacklin, it’s been incredible to watch Lisa carving her own niche into Sydney’s ever blossoming folk rock scene since the days of her 2014 Take A Walk EP.
With tender twangy tremolo Lisa shows the good, the ugly, and ultimately the strength found through vulnerability.
Most importantly she’s not afraid to tell her story, and that’s the most important part.
On the eve of the record’s release, Lisa came past the 2SER studios to have a chat with Cameron from The Band Next Door about the intrusive nature of wearing one heart’s on their sleeve, writing a record of slow burns and being an entirely independent musician (in the true sense of the term)
In Feelings is out now, so grab a digital download, a CD or a vinyl through Lisa’s bandcamp page.
