The fragmentation of the streaming industry continues as Amazon today announced that it would purchase Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

One of the world’s oldest film studios, Amazon intends to use its intellectual property to build the film production as the fourth pillar of the company alongside its marketplace, cloud storage and streaming service Prime.

Amazon is using its deep pockets to stake its claim against competitors like Disney Plus and Apple Tv Plus. But will it be successful?
