Angeles on their DIY Production and Songwriting

Angeles is the musical brainchild of Pluto Sotiropoulos, a multidisciplinary artist and sonic storyteller based in Naarm, formerly of Betty & Oswald. Equal parts delicate and distorted, Pluto’s music under Angeles is partially motivated by their roots in Greek heritage, as well as their family’s resettling to Eora in the 1960s.

Angeles opened for Matt Maltese at the Lansdowne in June, as well as Claudia Forever at the Oxford Art Factory at the start of December. Their latest single “A slow hand waving goodbye” is fresh on rotation at 2SER. Pluto joined Jono on Tuesday Drive to delve deeper into the songwriting and production aspects of that ethereal tune, ahead of a new EP releasing in February.
