Celebrating Apollo 11 – the first moon landing

The moon landing happened 50 years ago now and of course it gripped the world back in 1969, more than half a billion people tuned into to watch the momentous event as the first humans stepped onto the lunar surface. Dr Sarah Reeves is the curator of the Apollo 11 exhibition at The Powerhouse Museum, commemorating this historic event, and tells us some of the lesser known facts about what is the world’s most famous space mission. Get yourself to the Powerhouse to see over 200 objects related to the mission and even get a tour with Dr Reeves on the anniversary itself -this Sunday July 21.
