Are Aussie Men Becoming Less Fertile?
Infertility is a growing issue for Aussie couples. About one in six couples seek fertility advice from medical professionals and there’s evidence to suggest western men have become less fertile over time. Between 1973-2011, sperm concentration in western men has dropped 52% and total sperm count dropped 59%. Tess was joined by Dr Hannah Brown, Chief Science Storyteller from the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute to discuss lifestyle factors that may be contributing to this fertility decline.
