Despite Endometriosis affecting 1 in every 10 menstruating people in Australia, the condition remains one of the most misunderstood by health professionals. Now, new research is suggesting the common surgery used to treat endometriosis may be causing unnecessary problems for patients in the long term.

Those dealing with the disease have been calling for further research and funding into the issue, with medical experts now looking into treating the condition depending on the patient’s individual symptoms.
