Around Town – August 27-29

If you’re feeling a little anxious or overwhelmed at the moment — you’re not alone. With all that’s been going on, it feels easy to get caught up in the stress and mundanity of life in lockdown. Cliff Noble Community Centre is running a series of online slow flow yoga classes every Friday to help cultivate a sense of calm.

In case you missed it, this week is Children’s Book Week! The City of Sydney Librarians have been busy this week with special live readings of various books from the Children’s Book Council Australia shortlist. With a blend of singing, learning, and storytelling — children between the ages of 3 and 5 are invited to escape into the fantastical worlds of dragons, dangerous animals, and more! Today’s session is from 11-11:30 am — all you need to do is book on the City of Sydney website to receive the Zoom link.

If you’ve ever contemplated picking up the piano or guitar (or any instrument for that matter) — now’s as good a time as ever! ‘All Age Music’ is offering private music lessons in vocals, drums, piano, guitar, woodwind, and more. One-on-one lessons are offered in 30 minute, 45 minute, and 60-minute time slots and each are tailored to suit the student and their own musical journey. Group lessons are also available for instruments and singing! More information about booking can be found here
