Art After Hours at AGNSW turns 21!
Art After Hours is a weekly program held by the Art Gallery of NSW, where visitors are welcome to explore the gallery, attend tours and engage in creative workshops and performance, every Wednesday after dark from 5-10pm at the Naala Badu (North) building!
This flagship event began in 2003 and is one of the first cultural institutions in the world to establish an after hours program. Legends says it all started with then Art Gallery Director, Edmund Capon who was inspired with an after hours event, after seeing numerous people walk past the gallery, after closing.
In celebration of 21 years of Art After Hours, there are 3 special nights of events during October 9th, 16th and 23rd!
Clare Wilcox, Public Programs Manager at AGNSW, joined Annie on the Monday Daily to share some of the highlights, including a karaoke room, curated talks, visual performances and creative workshops.
The public are encouraged to attend and immerse themselves in the all ages friendly activities! Best of all no booking is required for most events.
