Artist Nicole Monks and the 2017 Telstra NATSIAA entries
The Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) is the longest running indigenous art prize and entries are now open for 2017. Nic spoke with one of the 2016 winner, Nicole Monks. Nicole won the 2016 NATSIAA Marika Memorial 3D Art Award for her ‘We are all Animals’ performance work. Nicole spoke about the efefct winning had on her career as well as the two new awards for 2017: the Telstra Multi-media Award for innovative works that use text, audio, images, animations, video and interactive conten, and the Emerging Artist Award.
