Artist-owned APY gallery is first of its kind in Australia

The Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands) are a long way from Sydney, but the brand new Anangu-owned APY Gallery is bringing art from this remote Central Australian community to the city.

Nic caught up with the general manager of APY Art Centre Collective, Skye O’Meara, to talk about how galleries like this support young and emerging Aboriginal artists and help to stop exploitative art practices.

The APY Gallery can be found at 45 Burton Street, Darlinghurst. More information is available on their website.
