ATO Debt Resurrection antics wreaks havoc on the Vulnerable
The Australian Tax Office (ATO) is set to recover $15 billion owed from 1.8 million entities under its’ controversial ‘robotax’ scheme.
Under the scheme, many taxpayers have been chased for old debts that were previously ‘written off’. Additionally, The Inspector General and Taxation Ombudsman, Karen Payne, said the ATO overlooks its discretionary and remedial powers when working with the vulnerable in the community.
