Atomaterials – The Next Step In Small Science?
For some, the adage goes that “bigger is better”. But for science, millions of dollars goes into shrinking technology. Silicon nanostructures, for example, have lead the charge in electronics, communication and more.
But now, a new development has the potential to provide the next big leap in minature materials. They’re called atomaterials, and they’re created through manipulation of atoms themselves.
But what sets them apart from normal nanomaterials, and how close are they to becoming mainstream? To find out more, Daily host Willy Russo speaks with Dr Han Lin, Professor at Swinburne University of Technology and Researcher at the Centre for Translational Atomaterials.
