Aus government urged to do more as local councils lead the way to net zero: national report
Australian councils are taking climate action into their own hands, with a new report showing they are outpacing the federal government in setting ambitious targets.
Released today ahead of the Better Futures Forum, the 2024 Australian Local Government Climate Review reveals that although largely under-resourced, nearly 90% of surveyed councils aim for net-zero emissions by 2030, well ahead of national goals.
