The 2017 National NAIDOC Week theme has been “Our Languages Matter”, emphasising the role of Indigenous languages in cultural identity. But how much do we really know about our first Australians, and should we be doing more to teach our kids about racial literacy in schools? we chat to Dr Samantha Schulz, Lecturer in the sociology of education at Flinders University.
