Australia stuck in post-election limbo

The nation is in a state of election limbo this morning with still no clear announcement for the winner of the 2016 federal election.

Malcolm Turnbull says he has every confidence the Coalition will be able to form a majority government, with the latest tally counting 65 seats for the Coalition and 67 for Labor.

Of course, 76 seats are needed to win the election, but there are still 13 seats in doubt.

The remaining ballot papers will be counted on Tuesday, with more than 20% of votes yet to be counted.

So is Australia headed for a majority Coalition government? Or a hung parliament?

We were joined by Dr Peter Chen, our resident politics expert from the University of Sydney, to discuss the possible results from the election.
