Australia to become first country to ban online anonymity

Australian’s may not be able to ‘be mean behind the screen’, with the Morrison Government pushing for changes to have all social media accounts traceable to a user. It comes after the Prime Minister concluded that online abuse, stalking and bullying actions could not continue unpunished, and will hold social media companies liable to hand over a user’s detail in defamation cases.
However, there is more to this story. The changes may mean aspects of cyber bullying among Australian youth could be all but quashed.
