Australian blues player Frank Sultana brought his pre-WWII mojo, gravel voice and 1944 Harmony guitar into the 2SER studios to shoot the breeze with Cathy Kirkpatrick for A DIRECTION HOME. There’ll be tales of recording at Sun Studios and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, what makes a great guitar player and his current tour.

In January 2023, among a field of 150 artists from around the world, Frank competed in and won the solo/duo section of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee. He is one of only the three people from outside of North America ever to have won, and all three are Australians. The legendary Fiona Boyes won in 2003 and Jimi Hocking (Screaming Jets) in 2005. Together they are on tour as The Memphis Three.
