Australian Motoring Fines Among Highest in the World

We are constantly bombarded with anti speeding campaigns in Australia, leading many to believe that speeding is a major problem in this country. A recent British study has shown that Australia has one of the highest fines for speeding, with motorists being charged an average of $401. On the other hand countries like Canada are only fining motorists $275 for speeding. 2SER was joined by Associate Professor Bligh Grant from a the University of Technology Sydney to discuss with us if fining motorists high amounts make a difference?
