Australian Marine Parks Network Review
Back in July this year, the Federal Government drafted management plans recommending marine protection zones in the Marine Parks Network to open its areas to increase commercial longline fishing, game fishing and trawling. The public consultation of the review closed on Wednesday. Will these types of activities threaten the sustainability efforts of the marine protection zones? The Daily was joined by James Caldwell, Marine Campaigner with the Australian Marine Conservation Society to discuss the changes proposed to the Marine Parks Network.
