We tend to think of climate changes as an environmental problem, but did you know it is also an urgent health issue here in Australia? The Medical Journal of Australia released an updated 2019 report on health and climate change last week warning that “there continues to be no engagement on health and climate change in the Australian Federal parliament” and that action is urgently needed.

While there has been progress in renewable energy generation and some progress at state and local government level there are substantial concerns leaving Australia at a significant risk of declines in health due to climate change.

Jess was joined by Associate Professor Paul Beggs, an environmental health scientist from Macquarie University and lead author of this report to find out more.
