Autism in Academia

How inclusive are our Australian universities to autistic communities? The number of autistic students in universities is increasing yet there is still a lack of acknowledgement of autistic academics within universities. What needs to change?

This Social Sciences Week the RMIT University is hosting a seminar which is bringing together Autistic self advocates and academics to discuss how universities can be more inclusive and accepting of autistic diversity within academia.

To discuss the topic we were joined by one of the speakers for the seminar Dr Jac den Houting a postdoctoral research associate at the Macquarie University.
