Though these same apps and sites have been sneakily gathering personal information from us.
The terms and conditions of agreement when signing up to use an app or site are not always clear. This in turn creates a dishonest environment for the technology that we use.
The research from Data61 suggests that the majority of the top 100 paid and free apps uses at the least one tracker to gather information on the user.
