Barcelona’s Tourism Dilemma

Recently the residents of Barcelona have been protesting against the massive numbers of tourists visiting their city – last year 32 million people visited the city, a massive influx for the 1.6 million residents.
Unregulated housing for tourists has been driving up rental prices and having a serious impact on housing affordability.
We spoke with 2SER Producer Poppy Burnett about how the city is trying to balance tourism with preserving its unique character.
