Beautiful Icon- John Williamson

John Williamson talk his new album, tour and legacy
People often overuse the phrase “humble beginnings,” but John Williamson truly comes from just that. Growing up as the son of a wheat farmer in the small town of Quambatook in northwest Victoria, John’s music has become the soundtrack to Australia over his 55-year career.
In celebration of this and his 80th birthday later this year, he is set to release a new album on the 4th of April, accompanied by a national tour that began in January at the TRECC in Tamworth.
Monday Drive’s Ben Curdie grew up listening to John’s music in the back of the family Holden Commodore station wagon, and was lucky enough to sit down with John to talk about his incredible career.
