Inspired by use of coal burn by Indigenous people in Arnhem land to manage bushfires and keep the soil healthy. Which Professor Stephen Joseph emulated as a renewable energy specialist since the 70’s. He’s now part of the biochar movement in Australia through the Australia New Zealand Biochar Industry Group (ANZBIG).
When plant waste is burnt in controlled temperature biochar is born. At the ANZBIG forum we find out how biochar can recycle over 50 million tons of waste yearly and reduce carbon from the atmosphere.
