Are Birds In Northern Australia Keeping Bushfires Burning?

Arsonists have been known throughout history to start forest fires and bushfires for a range of reasons. When caught, they can expect a lengthy prison term, sometimes up to 25 years for the damage they cause to the natural environment and to people’s lives.

But what happens when the culprit of arson is a high-flying bird? The phenomena of birds keeping fires burning has long been discussed in Northern Australia, but research has been scant or non-existent on the matter. Up until now.
