Blacktown Youth Forum

This Thursday in the Western Sydney suburb of Blacktown, students will take charge of the council.  Local students aged 14-18 are taking over the council chambers to discuss the future of Blacktown.

Students will be partaking in workshops and given the opportunity to tell the mayor and councillors directly what they want in the Blacktown City Council Youth Forum.

The Mayor of Blacktown City Stephen Bali said in a media release:

Young people have consistently said they want to tell us what they think rather than being told what is happening in the City.”

To find out more about this Youth forum,  we were joined by Children and Youth Development officer Jesica Varela.
