Kinship in the Indigenous culture for their queer members has always been there but in the heart of Sydney, a group that could affirm, support and create safe spaces for this group was needed. BlaQ was formed and with the mantra of celebrating members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ+SB community is the ethos of BlaQ, Te Rina Taite spoke to Sami Doku and Melissa Wang from Blaq (not pictured) about what they do, what’s in store for 2024.
