Bob Carr On Australia’s Approach To China
Malcolm Turnbull’s visit to The White House last week has re-ignited debates surrounding the management of the South China Sea. Australia remains between a rock & a hard place, attempting to keep major trading partners China & The US both on side while, at face value at least, imploring the enforcement of International obligations.
This development also comes as China scraps limited term presidencies, paving the way for Xi Jinping to become the longest serving leader since Mao Zedong. So how does Australia respond to these challenges coming from our biggest trading partner?
