Body Worn Cameras: The Future Of Policing?

In light of the release of disturbing footage on Tuesday that showed Victoria Police officers engaging in a violent altercation with a mentally ill pensioner that ended in the man being maced and later washed down with a garden hose, questions have once again been raised about the possible use of body cameras by police. It is thought that these body cameras ultimately act as a mechanism of accountability when incidents such as this occur. The Daily was joined by Rick Sarre, Adjunct Professor of Law and Criminal Justice at the University of South Australia.
