Do Breast Implants Cause Cancer?
Breast implants have become increasingly popular in our society, with over forty thousand surgeries every year. There’s a variety of reasons why people may go under the knife, from self-improvement, to giving women their body back after a mastectomy.
But recently it’s been discovered that they’ve been linked to a rare form of cancer. The Therapeutic Goods Administration has even confirmed 46 case of this rare non-hodgkin’s lymphoma last year alone. But if you’ve had breast implants, are you at risk?
The Daily spoke to Professor Sanchia Aranda, CEO of the Cancer Council Australia about what risks surround breast implants.
