Bringing the Night Back to Life with Johnny Hunter

A series of pre-pandemic political missteps have contributed to the ongoing slow-motion death of the local live music scene – the pulse that keeps Sydney and Melbourne’s nightlife thriving.

Johnny Hunter is a Sydney-based, five-piece indie punk band whose music echoes the frustrations of many bands in that predicament. Lead singer Nick Hutt spoke to Drive about the reemergence of performing live in front of actual people, as well as their dual residency tour in support of their latest release “Endless Days“, released February 2022.

You can catch Johnny Hunter live at the Botany View Hotel in Newtown.
