Buying More Sustainable, Ethical Fashion
Undeniably, fast fashion clothing is made quickly and cheaply, and is widely noted as being one of the Earth’s biggest polluters. However, in its 2020 Conscious Fashion Report, the shopping platform Lyst, revealed that Australian consumers are seeking out sustainable clothing more than ever. The report, which focused on tracking consumers’ online searches, found that there was a huge 110% increase in searches related to sustainable fashion in Australia. Some of the most popular searched items included sustainable and ethically made denim, swimwear and sportswear. We spoke to Gordon Renouf, Co-founder and CEO of Good on You to discuss the shift towards more sustainable fashion in Australia.
