Cafe owners criticises Australia’s Fair Work Act
The CEO of the Australian Restaurant and Café Association, ARCA, says Australia’s Fair Work Act is not working and is in danger of creating the hundred dollar an hour barrister that coffee shops can’t afford and will negatively impact tourism and shopping malls.
Wes Lambert says Australia’s Fair Work System, which began fifteen years ago needs to end.
He claims it has 122 modern awards and 18 million pay points, which result in a barrister being paid on a public holiday Sunday up to 60 dollars an hour, a figure that he says is on track to rise in 8 years to 100 dollars an hour.
