Calling ‘Cooee’ for Youth Mental Health

The Cooee March is a celebrated piece of the ANZAC legend where in 1910, around the start of World War One, a group of young Australian recruits started in Gilgandra in NSW and marched all the way to Sydney, picking up other recruits along the way to go and fight in the war. Less recognised is the way in which many of these young men returned from war with scars both physical and mental, assuming they returned at all.

Author Pieter Lindhout is recreating the walk in order to raise funds for youth mental health, in the memory of those brave young boys and men, and he joined 2ser Breakfast to talk about his efforts.
