Campaign to save Sydney’s lady class ferries

The iconic green and gold ferries are a fixture of the Sydney Harbour landscape. But two of these, the Lady Northcott and the Lady Herron are set to leave service at the end of this year. They are the last of Sydney’s ‘Lady’ class ferries, having been in service since the 1970s. Their replacement is part of the NSW Government’s $52-million Inner Harbour Ferry Project. But a Mosman community campaign is trying to ensure these ‘ladies’ stay in service for another 50 years. An online petition has garnered more than 1800 supporters and a rally was held at Taronga Zoo Wharf on Sunday.

Mosman Deputy Mayor, Roy Bendall joined us on the Tuesday Daily to chat about the campaign.
